Pianist and Tenor Dobin Park was born in Seoul, South Korea; he began to play the violin at the age of four, and piano at the age of twelve. Dobin graduated Seoul Arts High School as a piano major and enrolled at Seoul National University, where he completed requirements for Bachelor of piano major and voice minor degrees. Additionally, he was a Teaching Assistant in Piano Department at Seoul National University while he studied for the Master of Music degree in piano performance. Mr. Park has given recitals as both a soloist and collaborative pianist. He has participated in music festivals and competitions both nationally and internationally, including Vienna Music Festival, Spain Arona Music Festival, Korea Music Journal Competition (the first prize and grand prize), and Sejong Music Competition in Korea (grand prize). He was a Graduate Assistant of University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music from 2015 to 2016.
Currently, Dobin is pursuing his Doctoral of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, studying under Professor Awadagin Pratt with full scholarship since 2015. He will be starting his Master’s degree in voice at CCM in Fall 2018 with the Alfred and Belle Hallen Voice Award. He has been awarded the first prize at CCM Piano Concerto Competition, and played Chopin Piano Concerto No.1 in e minor with CCM Concert Orchestra at the Corbett Auditorium.
